The oceanfront dining area surrounds Claire Falkenstein’s stunning water sculpture, Structure and Flow. The patio also features an unobstructed view of the Queen Mary and Catalina Island.

Paint the summer colors at this beautiful and historic location overlooking the Pacific Ocean while basking in the creative aura of the Long Beach Museum of Art. This workshop will focus on plein air painting with casual instruction and will be open to all abilities. Led by watercolor artist Anne Kupillas and designer and urban sketcher Charles Leon, this workshop will be held outside overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and will demonstrate how to

 This workshop emphasizes sketching, composition, value, color, light and shadow, and the pros and cons of creating art on location.  This will be a casual and informative workshop! Participants will leave with at least one finished sketch or painting, as well as smaller studies, and a better appreciation for on location sketching. Please bring your favorite supplies for painting or drawing outside; a suggested list of supplies will be provided upon registration. For those new to sketching and watercolor painting, a supply kit can be purchased for an additional $18.  One glass of wine or beer and snacks are included in the price of the workshop.    Location: Claire’s at the Museum
